June 11th, 07 Raw Results - The Draft
Kennedy is RAW

A 15 man over the top rope battle royal took place to determine the brand who would get the next two draft picks. Randy Orton [Raw] & Matt Hardy [Smackdown] were the Final two competitors. Hardy took Ortons offense and fired back with some of his own, but just as it looked that Raw was doomed Randy Orton took out Matt Hardy to gain the final two draft picks. The computer began to run through the superstars from Smack down & ECW and the first pick landed on Snitsky. Snitsky comes out on the ramp and poses. Snitsky walks to the back and the computer starts to rotate again this time landing on Mr. Kennedy. The fans cheer and Kennedy makes his way out onto the Ramp. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler put over Mr. Kennedy as a huge Draft pick. Ken stands on the ramp and does his signature pose mouthing out "This is MY Show", before smirking and walking to the back.

June 9th, 07 Ken DOES NOT have Myspace
Message from Ken

I would just like you all to know that I do not have, nor have I ever had, a Myspace account. I have some company staying with me for the weekend, and they pulled up a few fake Mr. Kennedy sites for me just for shits and giggles, and I have to say that I was HIGHLY entertained. I think it's fantastic that there are actually goofs out there who write blog entries and answer questions from fans and such. Keep up the good work! This doesn't really piss me off but I'd like you to know, constant fan, that if you ever come across a Mr. Kennedy Myspace account, and you think that you're talking to the Daddy himself, you are sadly mistaken!

I'd also like to follow up on something that I read that RVD wrote a few weeks ago. Please keep in mind that at least half of all the internet reporters out there, really don't have a clue about how this business works, and have to keep reporting things to make their measly livings. If there's nothing to report, they embellish, or just outright make shit up!! The favorites are the constant conspiracy theorists who think that the McMahon's are evil people, and that every win and loss is determined by some sort of backstage politics. Bullshit. Again, this stuff is highly entertaining and laughed at by most of the boys in the business. I'm not sure how these people get their "misinformation", but I do not understand, for the life of me, how they can look at themselves in the mirror everyday and call themselves legitimate reporters

June9,07 MR. KENNEDY: THIS ISN'T BALLET
New FHM Blog

Injuries in the wrestling business are pretty common. Most of us wrestle with injuries for months and months without complaining. It’s just part of the deal. Like they say, ‘This isn’t ballet.’ With my latest injury, I was misdiagnosed by a doctor in Erie, PA, who said that my triceps’ tendon was torn off the bone and that I would need surgery and six months of rehab. I spent 45 minutes in an MRI tube and he misread the damned thing. I'm pretty claustrophobic, so I was pissed when another doctor said he thought it wasn't a tear and that I was going to have to spend two more hours in the tube. It turned out I just had a large hematoma in the triceps, which caused a great deal of swelling and pain from all the built-up pressure. Luckily, it was only going to take a month or two to heal. The nice thing about this injury is that I'm able to have time off from my constant, hectic travel schedule. Not only can I rehab this injury, but I can also recover from the severely sprained ankle, sprained thumb, and other injuries that I have been dealing with.

An unfortunate part of the rehab process is that I'm forced to just sit and watch SmackDown, RAW, and ECW every week. I can't begin to tell you how frustrating it is to have to sit and watch and not be able to contribute. I hate having to watch Edge. He suckered me into giving up my Money in The Bank opportunity and then cashed it in successfully only a few days later. I keep asking myself, ‘Why would I let someone talk me into putting my guaranteed title shot on the line?’ I don't really have an answer. I wasn't thinking straight, but I hate excuses so I'll say nothing.

Since I've been watching the three different brands, I'm excited about the upcoming draft. I'm the fastest rising star on SmackDown and the man who has consistently changed Friday nights, but if I am chosen by another brand in the draft I will continue to excel wherever I end up.

But what’s up with "Mr. McMahon Appreciation Day?" Isn't every day Mr. McMahon Appreciation Day? I mean if you saw all of the ass kissing that takes place backstage you'd wonder the same thing.

Tune in to a special three-hour Monday Night Raw this Monday on the USA Network.

Career Suicide

Pride is at the bottom of all great mistakes. -Charles Macklin

This week, it’s safe to speculate that Mr. Kennedy had the worst week ever. In fact, the term “career suicide” might even be applicable. In losing the Money in the Bank contract to Edge, Kennedy went from being guaranteed the main event at WrestleMania 24 to sitting on the sidelines watching someone else bear the fruit of his labor.

The only questions one can really ask in this scenario are “what the hell happened?” and “where does Kennedy go from here?”

How must Kennedy feel about this week’s events? Losing the Money in the Bank contract isn’t just a small bump in the road; it’s a mountain. Put yourself in his shoes for a moment. Anyone who starts out in this business dreams of making it to WWE, but just like the major leagues of any sport, only a small percentage do.

And just like the minor leagues of any sport, wrestling in the independents isn’t easy. Sometimes, you’ll perform in front of 50 people, making $20 a shot (or sometimes, even less). Mr. Kennedy knows that, because he did it for years, often performing in front of few and making very little for weeks or months at a time. Hell, it was only about 18 months ago that Kennedy was featured on Velocity every week, having to work his way up the ladder to the main event which was then still only a dream.

And finally, at WrestleMania, he broke the bank. That Money in the Bank contract is arguably better than being a No. 1 contender, because you can cash in at any time and use that stipulation when it is most advantageous.

Unfortunately, that dream is gone. So where does Kennedy go from here? Does he have to start at the bottom once again and work for another few years to get back to where he once was? Many fail to hit the end of that long hard road once, but can it be done twice?

Falls from grace are often swift and ugly; for instance, Lex Luger was in the one of the main events of WrestleMania X, challenging Yokozuna for the WWE Championship. One year later, however, Luger was in the opening match of WrestleMania XI. WrestleMania is the biggest event in the business, and on Monday morning, Kennedy was the only man guaranteed to even be there in Orlando next year. Now, there’s no guarantee he’ll be anywhere near the Citrus Bowl. Not only is that a blow to the ego, but to the wallet as well, because WrestleMania is the biggest payday of the year (even the loser’s share of the purse is substantial, as Gorilla Monsoon might say).

Ah, yes, ego. Is that the reason why Kennedy had the worst week ever? Look again at the quote at the top, and realize there is a fine line between pride and ego. Kennedy sure has both in abundance, and maybe that’s why he was goaded into possible career suicide. Not only did Kennedy know he was less than 100 percent on Monday, but he also knew that he won that contract fair and square, in a match Edge was IN no less. Would a man with a lesser ego have simply told Edge, a man who already knew what it was like to be Mr. Money in the Bank, to piss off and stand in line? Possibly, but Kennedy himself will tell you that he’s not a lesser man.

So where does Mr. Kennedy go from here? Well, he might not even know, but it appears he’s got some time to think about it as he rehabs his injury. And while he may have committed career suicide, he can at least take solace in the fact that everyone makes mistakes. After all, to err is human, but the true test of a man is how he learns from his mistakes.

Mr. Kennedy has plenty of time to think about the “mistake” he made on Monday night. Will he be able to recover and begin down the long road back to the top? Will he learn from what happened and use that knowledge to make him stronger? Or will May 7, 2007 go down as the day that Ken Kennedy committed career suicide?

May 9th, 07 Kennedy Not that badly injured
Back in 6 to 8 weeks

Edge may not want to get too comfortable wearing the World Heavyweight Championship around his Rated-R waist. WWE.com has received word that the initial prognosis for Mr. Kennedy’s arm injury was overstated. Based on Kennedy’s extensive MRI at the Birmingham, Ala. offices of Dr. James Andrews, WWE’s Dr. Ferdinand Rios now reports that the SmackDown Superstar’s triceps tendon “was not torn from the bone as originally reported and will not require surgery.”

Due to the severity of Kennedy’s hematoma — a collection of blood within a tissue or organ — he is still not cleared to compete from a medical standpoint.

“He’s still vulnerable to injury and the arm remains badly swollen,” said Dr. Rios. “I’d expect him to be out of action for about six to eight weeks.”

Upon hearing the positive report, WWE.com caught up with the former Money in the Bank holder. Though clearly relieved, he’s already shifting his focus from a likely six months of recovery time to plotting his next move.

“This is great news for me; I don’t have a torn muscle,” Kennedy said. “But the good news for me is really, really bad news for Edge. He took something from me…took advantage of my unfortunate situation. Now he and everyone else have just a short amount of time to worry about what I’m going to do when I get back.”

Kennedy Sidelined

Mr. Kennedy had been counting down the days until he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and competed for a World Championship at WrestleMania 24. Unfortunately, with 328 days remaining until the March 30, 2008 pay-per-view in Orlando’s Florida Citrus Bowl, time has suddenly run out for SmackDown’s loudmouth Superstar. In addition to losing his Money in the Bank contract to Edge on Raw Monday night, Kennedy is en route to Birmingham, Ala., to consult with Dr. James Andrews about his injured right arm and impending surgery.

Despite first injuring his arm during a WWE live event last weekend, the cocky Superstar fought through immense pain and continued competing in the ring. He even attended Raw at Penn State University this past Monday to update our fans with his Money in the Bank countdown, only to find himself baited into a match with Edge. Though never one to back down from a fight, the already-injured Kennedy hurt his own cause by accepting the Rated-R Superstar’s challenge, then trying to fight off his brutal pre-match assault. He was ultimately unable to withstand a Spear from Edge and keep his coveted Money in the Bank briefcase. Adding even more injury to insult, his valiant effort resulted in him tearing his right triceps muscle right off the bone.

No stranger to injury, Kennedy sat out much of early 2006 when he separated the tendon from the bone in his lat (back). Sources close to the SmackDown Superstar have said that he is so distraught over this latest setback, plus the loss of his title opportunity, that he may never return to the ring.

WWE.com witnessed first hand the tremendous physical and emotional toll taken on Mr. Kennedy; several hours after his devastating loss on Raw, the visibly upset Superstar could not bring himself to leave the locker room area. For a man who’s never been at a loss for words, it was very unsettling to observe Kennedy quietly sitting in a corner, his head in his hands as he mumbled to himself over an uncertain future.

Kennedy Injured?

-Mr. Kennedy suffered what we believe was a triceps injury over the weekend. We don't have any details other than it appears to be significant.

Credit - Wrestling Observer

For those wondering why Ken Kennedy lost the Money in the Bank briefcase to Edge and was completely laid out tonight during Monday Night Raw, the reason is Kennedy suffered a horrible tricep tear over the weekend, tearing it right off the bone during a house show in Poughkeepsie, New York. Kennedy is scheduled to undergo surgery shortly and is expected to out of the ring for an estimated five to seven months.

Given the way he was written out, one would think Kennedy will be returning as a babyface but given the way the company changes plans daily, I wouldn't consider that a given until it happens

Mr Kennedy vs Matt Hardy… Kennedy

As Mr Money in the Bank reminds us that there are only 331 days until WrestleMania 24 and when he cashes in his briefcase alongside with new double K paintjob. Hardy gets the side headlock from the lock up. Kennedy gets his own when they go again. Both trade some quick one counts from here. Hardy gets a leg scissors and a front face lock which is turned into a wrist lock by Kennedy reversed into a hammerlock from Hardy. They trade reversals until Kennedy elbows Hardy and kicks him a few times. He whips Hardy to the corner and follows in but gets a kick and some clotheslines. Hardy goes back to the headlock with a snapmare. Kennedy hits some forearms and goes for a Piledriver but gets back dropped over to the outside. The show goes to break as Kennedy is bleeding from the nose.

The show comes back with Hardy elbowing Kennedy from the middle rope for a one count. Kennedy blocks an Irish Whip and takes down Matt by the shoulder. He sends Hardy shoulder first into the top turnbuckle and School Boys him for 2. Kennedy continues to work on the shoulder. Hardy fights back and they hit each other with a double kill clothesline. Hardy sends Kennedy through the ropes. On the outside Kennedy kicks Hardy into the steps before rolling him back in for a 2 count. Kennedy snapmares Hardy and applies a European headlock. "Let's Go Hardy" chants help him fight out with some of his great punches. He whips Kennedy who grabs the ropes, kicks Hardy in the chest and clotheslines him for 2. Kennedy drives his knee into Hardy's face against the ropes before covering him for 2, three times. Hardy fights back with more punches. He goes for the bulldog out of the corner but Kennedy blocks him. Kennedy goes for the briefcase but Hardy dropkicks it off the edge of the ring. He then hits the clothesline/bulldog combo in the corner for a close 2 count. Kennedy goes up top but is blocked by Hardy. Kennedy drops Hardy on the top rope but soon after gets a Side Effect for 2. He calls for the Twist of Fate but Kennedy reverses with a leg sweep and a Jack-knife pin for 2. The trade rights and kicks before clotheslining each other with each getting a 2 count on the other. Hardy blocks the rolling Senton and goes for the Twist of Fate, but Kennedy blocks that and manages to get Hardy back on his shoulders for the successful Senton for 2. Kennedy goes to the top rope for the Kenton Bomb but Hardy puts up the knees getting a 2 count. Hardy hits a legdrop from the second rope for another 2. Kennedy blocks a Twist Of Fate but not a second attempt which gets the victory for Hardy.

Winner – Matt Hardy by pinfall. Really good match.

Backstage we are shown clips of Shawn Michaels and Edge being attended to after they were mysteriously attacked. King and JR speculate that it was or wasn’t Randy Orton who attacked them. A promo for the Condemned airs and King & JR introduce Egypt Central who have a track on The Condemned soundtrack. Suddenly Mr. Kennedy’s music hit’s the arena. JR wonders what Friday Night Smackdown’s Mr. Kennedy is doing here on Raw.

Kennedy takes center stage in the ring and puts down his briefcase, he lifts his arms out and then poses as his mic comes down into his hand. Kennedy laughs and points to the back and says "I didn’t do that". Kennedy says he has a white Bronco parked out back and you can go check it, there is no blood stains. He says if there was a glove found at the scene he guarantees it wouldn’t fit his hand. He says he isn’t the one who took out Shawn Michaels and Edge, because he doesn’t need to do stuff like that. He says he doesn’t need to do stuff like that because he has "this" and he lifts up the Money In The Bank Briefcase.

Kennedy says at Backlash last night he put the fear of God into pretty much anyone who was competing for a Championship. Ken says he could have easily walked out of Backlash as a champion but he decided not to. He asks the fans if they want to know why? Ken says he didn’t because he wanted to ask everyone here tonight a burning question. "Who here would like to see Mr. Kennedy cash in his briefcase right here tonight in Nashville Tennessee?" The fans cheer and applaud and Ken says No, that’s not going to happen.

The fans start to chant you suck as Mr. Kennedy says he doesn’t suck because he has his money in the bank briefcase. Ken says he thinks what Edge did with his MITB Briefcase was wrong and an act of cowardice. He says waiting till John Cena was beaten to a bloody pulp by 5 other men that was just wrong and he would never do something like that. Ken says that is why he decided to be upfront with the people and be a man and he is going to give everyone the time and the place where it is all going to go down.

He asks if the fans are ready? He says ladies and gentlemen the countdown is on because in just 335 days at Wrestlemania 24 Mr. Kennedy cashes in the Briefcase and there will be a new champion and his name is Mr. Kennedy….. KENNEDY!

Backstage Maria is standing by and she welcomes The Rated R Superstar Edge. Maria says later tonight Edge will be in the fatal four way for the WWE Championship and she asks him for his thoughts. Edge mocks Maria and then says that she can, and he would be glad to tell her, tell her that he is happy, he’s happy that he didn’t have to go tear through Randy Orton on Raw last week because he is not quite as tired, and he is Happy that John Cena and Shawn Michaels tore through each other for almost an Hour. He said it makes his path to his third WWE Championship that much easier. Maria pulls out a sheet of paper and says "Someone asked me to ask you this". Maria reads the paper which says "How did you win your first WWE title?"

Edge smirks and says Everyone knows that he says it was the most brilliant move ever in this industry. He says he was Mr. Money In The Bank and John Cena just had gone through 5 opponents in the Elimination Chamber. He says Cena was beaten from pillar to post. Edge says he took a beaten John Cena and walked down that ramp, cashed in and beat John Cena 1-2-3 for his first ever WWE Championship. Edge asks Maria who in the hell asked her to ask him that question. Maria says "Um, he did" and points behind Edge Where we see MR. KENNEDY!

Edge says "Mr. Kennedy" and Kennedy says "hey" Edge asks how he is doing, Kennedy says he is doing good. Ken says he just wanted to say good luck tonight because he is sure that his match is going to be grueling and hellatious and he is sure the winner is going to be exhausted from being beaten from pillar to post and coast to coast and bloodied and battered and all that good stuff. Ken says so I just wanted to says I hope you win your match. Ken pulls up his Money in The Bank Briefcase and taps it a few times. Ken says "I’m just saying" and walks off.

The show starts with Batista and Mr Kennedy fighting backstage. Batista has the advantage until Finlay comes to help. They come through the curtain with Batista bouncing Finlay off a randomly placed red Double Decker bus. The numbers game gets Batista on the floor until the lights go out. When they come back on Undertaker is in the ring. Finlay and Kennedy leave and the lights go out one more time leaving an empty ring.

Finlay and Kennedy are with Teddy Long. Kennedy says forget Backlash as it's too far away and make Undertaker vs Batista tonight. Teddy makes Finlay and Kennedy vs Undertaker and Batista in a No DQ match.

Kennedy does his introduction saying his hometown is a real American town with "real football, real American football, smashmouth football"

MR. KENNEDY & FINLAY VS. BATISTA AND UNDERTAKER
The faces attack with Taker taking out Kennedy and Finlay gets beat by Batista in the ring. They’re the legal men to begin things but Kennedy tags in and so does Taker. Kennedy kicks the hamstring of Taker, but Taker clotheslines Kennedy after a whip into the turnbuckle. Batista tags in and goes to the ribs of Kennedy. Kennedy tags Finlay who slams Batista with some forearms. Finlay sits on the top rope after a boot but Kennedy suplexes him off. Kennedy is in, and Batista throws Kennedy into Finlay and they both go over the ropes as we go to break.

Batista hits a suplex on Kennedy coming out of the break. Taker tags in and works the arm of Mr. Kennedy. Finlay distracts him and Kennedy pulls him off. Finlay then walks into a boot by Taker. Kennedy is still down so Taker has the advantage. He goes to try Old School again and hits. Finlay is in and he gets it too. Undertaker with the Downward Spiral on Kennedy. Kennedy fights back as Batista goes looking for Finlay. He finds him and slams him into the steps on the outside, then drives the back of Finlay into the apron. Taker throws Kennedy over the top rope and to the outside. They’re fighting on the outside now as Finlay gets tossed over the announce table by Taker. Taker no-sells Kennedy’s punches inside then Batista tags in. K.K. gets thrown into the post shoulder-first. Kennedy goes after Batista with a dropkick to the knee of Batista. Finlay legally uses the Shillaleigh when the ref’s back was turned on Batista’s leg, then uses it again. Taker finally gets tired of that and chases Finlay out of the ring. Double-team now, followed by Finlay working the leg. Kennedy keeps the offense grounded as he works the knee of Batista. Batista goes off the ropes and spears Kennedy. Batista Bomb doesn’t work and Kennedy tags Finlay who knocks Undertaker out to prevent the tag and uses the Shillaleigh again. Taker has the last word, doing his stereo corner splash. Double-clothesline is next from Taker. Chokeslam hits on Finlay, then he hits Kennedy with it. Spinebuster by Batista on Finlay for the pin.

WINNERS: Undertaker & Batista 15:03
Apparently, Taker is unhappy with Batista getting the pin. Batista has the mic and says no one keeps him down for a ten-count, referencing the upcoming Backlash match. He says he’s taking the belt back. Taker says he’s no ordinary man and that he’s taking Batista’s soul.

When the pen drags across the dotted line at the bottom of a WWE contract, that privileged someone isn’t signing up for a run-of-the-mill 9-5 job. A WWE Superstar is constantly on the move, traveling from city to city (or country to country) en route to the next live event. That, teamed with the stresses of being away from home, is commonplace in the realm of sports-entertainment.

However, the 12-day stretch of non-stop shows throughout Europe was a different case. For some Superstars, the European tour that has gone through such countries as Italy, Germany, Austria and England, has been an excruciating mental and physical journey that forced them to quickly adapt to a different lifestyle.
