NASHVILLE, Tenn.– In what many fans may consider a bold – or perhaps foolish – move, Mr. Kennedy declared on Raw that he’ll wait a full 11 months to cash in his Money in the Bank World Championship opportunity at WrestleMania 24 in Orlando, Fla.

The Money in the Bank briefcase is the ultimate wild card, with the element of surprise adding to its mystique and prestige. Some believe that cashing it in sooner rather than later could be a wiser choice for Kennedy. By doing so, he can exploit its value before an unexpected injury could occur. Others believe he should rely on strategy, as Edge did at Backlash in 2006, when he cashed in his briefcase to defeat John Cena after The Champ was bloodied by five other competitors in an exhausting Elimination Chamber Match.

But on Raw, Kennedy claimed the approach Edge used to win the title from Cena was wrong and an act of “cowardice.”

After the unexpected announcement, WWE.com approached Kennedy regarding his decision. Brushing off all previous criticism, Mr. Money in the Back claimed he was simply following his predestined path to WWE greatness.

“When I climbed that ladder and grabbed the briefcase, it guaranteed me a main event match. I believe one of the things every man in this business should strive for is to main-event WrestleMania. That’s why I chose that specific place and that specific time.”

However, Kennedy didn’t stop there. To remind fans exactly how much time is left until he “claims his first World Championship,” he demanded WWE.com create a running countdown to be displayed on our Web site.

“It’s like shoving it in the fans’ faces that I own the Money in the Bank briefcase,” said the arrogant Superstar. “Sometimes the truth hurts and the fans should feel honored that I’m allowing them to see that clock count down everyday. That I’m kind enough to remind them there is only X-amount of time before Mr. Kennedy main-events WrestleMania and fulfils his destiny.”

In accordance with Kennedy’s wishes, the countdown to WrestleMania 24 has been created. What the future holds for this rising Superstar is unknown. Nevertheless, one thing is certain — in Orlando at WrestleMania 24, one of the World Title holders will square off against a gold-hungry competitor that’s had nearly a full year to prepare.
